My OB appt yesterday went well. Lots of talking and answering questions. I brought some paperwork from my RE's office so that helped too. I had already known a lot of what they talked about regarding being healthy, weight gain, etc but it was good to hear again. And they explained the upcoming tests to be done so I learned more there! And at the end, they did a sonogram so I was able to see our little bean and it was beautiful!! I wish my DH could have been there with me! Next appt is 4/15 -and unfortunately my DH will be away on business. I am wondering if I should move up or push back so he can be there.
I asked about my sleeping issues and the midwife I met with (at this clinic, you have your first two appts with the midwives and then have the choice after that to see the OBs or stay with the midwives. There are 2 midwives and 3 OBs in this office) said at this point it is important to get sleep. She mentioned that our bodies will warn us when sleeping our our backs is not going to work. So for now, I am not going to worry and will hopefully sleep more soundly for a while.
I am having indecision issues. My DH is going on a business trip to North Carolina and will be fairly close to where my parents live. He wants me to come down for a long weekend. Originally, I was all for it but now I am nervous again about traveling as I would be ~ 12 1/2 weeks. And my parents are coming up to visit us in early May. If I was not going to see my parents in a little over a month, I would probably go but I am not really feeling up to traveling. We had also talked about a vacation in June as that would be a good time for me to travel and I hate to continue taking more vacation as I want as much as possible saved for later in the year. And I also told my manager two weeks ago I did not want to travel because it was too early. Maybe I am being paranoid but I feel it is best for me just to stay home & relax as much as possible. I do not think my DH is very happy with my decision. Indecision, Indecision... what to do?
Can you believe I will be 11 weeks tomorrow? WOO HOO!

Tomorrow is 1st OB Appt @ 10w5d
I felt great on Thursday and thought that I was fortunate to have kicked nausea & fatigue out of the house. I was wrong, but will take any amount of it to have a healthy little one. I felt pretty bad on Friday at work and over this weekend so far. Thankfully for me, nausea is just an icky stomach ache and no vomiting. I have been pretty lucky in that respect. I have not slept well the last few nights as I am trying to train my body to sleep on my side and not on my back. I have always been a stomach/back sleeper and have been reading that it is good to start sleeping on your side now as after a certain point, sleeping on one's back is not recommended. My body is not liking sleeping on its side. I did take a nap this afternoon (after only being up for 2 hours. LOL) and put a large pillow behind me/small pillow in front of me and that seemed to help a little. I think if all goes well at my appt tomorrow, I will be looking into a body pillow of some sort to help.
I am nervous for my first OB appt tomorrow. I am still not sure what to expect and hope that I like the staff at the drs office. My first two appts are with their nurse/midwives and then I move to seeing the drs (not sure why they do this?). Hoping & Praying it is an uneventful appt & everything is continuing to progress well.

Our Little Bean at 9w6d

Thank you so much to everyone for your wonderful posts/comments! Here is our little bean from our u/s this morning. It is a bit blurry but at the u/s, you could see the arms / legs. And my DH has started calling him / her our teddy bear! I think this little nickname might stick with us! We shall see. I think I may call him / her our little bean forever!
My first OB appt is next Monday, 3/29. I am going back to the OB that I first saw when we first started TTC. H&P things continue smoothly from here until 10/20/10.
U/S #3 - Graduation to OB = )
I had u/s #3 today and have graduated to the OB = ) Everything looked good with our little bean. I am 9w6d and little bean measured 9w6d. Heartbeat is 170bpm. I have u/s pictures but have not had a moment to scan them. I will later tonight! They are a little blurry though so I am not sure how well they will come out after scanning. I am working from home today so I will keep this short. I wanted to share the good news! I am still nervous but I do feel better after today's appt!

4 1/2 days to go until u/s #3
I have been a terrible blogger and friend lately! I apologize - I have been lurking but have not had much energy lately to post much. 4 1/2 days to go (actually 4 days and 16 hours but who is counting. LOL) until my next u/s. I am 9w1d today. I hope that the next 4+ days goes by faster than fast. Unfortunately the last few days at work have gone by super slow. I finally said something to my manager and now he has piled on the work, but that is OK as it will help keep my mind occupied. I am so nervous and praying that everything is progressing OK. My symptoms are still coming & going, which of course is still making me quite crazy -- main ones are still fatigue & queasiness. I bought some sea bands on the recommendation of my acupuncturist and they have seemed to help. One thing that does concern me is yesterday I started having these stitches/cramps on my right side and tonight they are on both sides. It is like a pulling sensation and are very uncomfortable. I hope everything is ok and it is just my uterus expanding. I am not sure when to get really concerned. I was excited when they were not there during work today but they came back tonight when I got home.
Food unfortunately does not taste very good to me. My favorite food lately seems to be bagels as I got tired of crackers. I need to figure a way to get more fruits & veggies into my diet. Despite the fact that food is not as appealing to me as it normally is, my pants are starting to get a little snug.... I hope there is a shopping trip in my near future!!

Peace of Mind Ultrasound = )
I am very glad that I called and asked for a 2nd u/s. I do feel better -- I was able to see my little bean again and things are still progressing as they should. I am 8weeks today but measuring 7w6d (my dr said this was within the margin of error at this point so not to worry) and the heartbeat measured at 166bpm. Unfortunately, my DH could not be there due to his work and I forgot to ask for a picture.
I am still unfortunately nervous. I just have to try to be as calm as I can be (if it is possible to be calm) for the next 13 days and hope & pray everything continues to progress well for my next u/s.

The worrier in me.....
had to call today for an extra u/s this week. All my symptoms just suddenly disappeared this morning on my way into work. It was so strange. One moment I was laying on my bed queasy and the next moment I felt perfect! I tried to get it out of my head for a few hours at work but I could not. I could not concentrate and all that went through my head were bad thoughts! So, I made the call! The nurse asked me when I was available and I said anytime this week and she was like oh, you wanted to come in this week. OF COURSE! I said I could wait until next week if needed as a one week wait would be better than two more weeks but I would prefer to get in this week if possible. So I have an appt on Wednesday afternoon.
I *know* it is common for symptoms to come & go but since I do not have many symptoms in the first place, it just scared me so much. And since this is the farthest I have ever gotten, I am in completely new territory!
Why cant I be cool, calm & collected?

Telling My Parents
It was a lot of fun telling my parents and they are very excited. Our plan did not work quite as we hoped but it was still fun. We scanned our u/s picture and I texted it to my mom (as she is learning how to text) -- we named the text "Our little construction project - open house 10/19/10." We built our last two houses and my mom/dad have helped us throughout both processes as they built their current house so we thought this was a cute title. Once we sent the text, we let a 1/2 hour go by (as we were hoping she would see it and call.) There was no phone call so I finally called and asked my mom if she got my text but she had not yet. She went to get her phone and could not open the text. So, we emailed it to her and she was confused until she was able to open up the picture and realized that it was our u/s picture! She was very excited and ran upstairs to tell my dad, who was speechless! I had to remind them that it is still very early and that we are just telling them until we reach the 2T. Although I am sure my mom has spilled the beans to a few friends of hers....
I am 7w4d today. 5 days down and 16 more to go until my next u/s. The tiredness has definitely set in and I have been lazy all weekend. I did manage to make it out to run some errands yesterday but otherwise I have spent most of my weekend on the couch. Today, there has been an NCIS marathon to keep me company. My BIL started us watching NCIS and now we are addicted!
How am I going to make it through the next 2 weeks and 2 days without going stir crazy? I know I need to take it one day at a time!

The most beautiful sight....

My DH & I saw the most beautiful sight this morning when we got to see our little bean and his/her heartbeat! It was incredible and amazing. I could not stop smiling = ) I was so nervous at first as my RE (who is a teaching RE) showed the resident around my uterus/ovary area and I did not see anything. Then, he said "I bet you want to get to the good part" and he brought our little bean up within seconds. We could see the heartbeat immediately.
I am 6w6d today and my little bean is measuring right at 6w6d today. My due date is 10/19/10. It is still very early and I am still nervous of course but we decided to tell my parents tonight. We actually just texted my mom and are going to see if she calls in the next 10-15 minutes. If not, we will call my mom & dad to tell them. We have decided not to go public otherwise until we have reached the 2nd trimester. My parents know about our treatments and have been a great support so we thought it was OK to tell them a little earlier.
Unfortunately, I have to wait three whole weeks until my next ultrasound. I was hoping it would just be two but my RE wanted to wait three. I figure if I get really nervous, I can always call and ask for an extra one (I will have to pay for it out of pocket but that would be OK to me.) I will be making an appt soon with an OB, hopefully to occur very shortly after my next RE appt!
I know we still have a long ways to go and I will probably forever be nervous -- but I wanted to share the good news and say thank y'all for your wonderful support. I could not have made it through the last few weeks with you!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
